Final Salary Decisions
April 15th, 2016
One in five members of ‘final salary’ pension schemes whose employers have paid for them to receive financial advice have chosen to take a transfer value and left the scheme, says the Telegraph. Though they are giving up a ‘gold-plated’ guarantee of an index-linked pension, they will benefit from flexibility of withdrawals and the ability to leave capital to their heirs. People with pension funds worth over £250,000 are the most likely to transfer out of their scheme.
